Keep Your Hot Tub Sparkling & Sanitized
Routine hot tub maintenance and care is essential for the longevity and functionality of your hot tub. Some of you newer hot tub owners may be wondering what exactly does hot tub maintenance entail. The key to hot tub care is consistency. This can be in the form of daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly tasks. Tasks include monitoring sanitizer and ph levels, as well cleaning the filters and draining the tub. Certain tasks also depend on a number of imprtant factors including how often you use your hot tub, how many people use it, along with your environment. Routine Maintenance is Key and can be done by our hot tub repair & service professionals. Setting up and maintaining regular hot tub care will not only optimize your hot tubs life, but your overall enjoyment and experience!
Clean Your Spa Filter
How do you know when it’s time to clean those filters? If there is no pressure gauge it is best to set up filter cleaning every 4-6 weeks depending on usage. Some hot tubs come equipped with a pressure gauge. If this pressure gauge rises 8-10 lbs than you know it’s time to clean that filter. Besides keeping your filters clean, spa filters need to be replaced every 1-2 years or every 10-15 cleaning depending on your use schedule.
Regularly Clean Your Hot Tub
We here at Hot Tub Patrol can’t stress enough how vital it is to clean your spa on a regular basis. Cleaning the water of any floating debris will help to keep algae and bacteria at bay. Proper chemical balance will keep everything in check, especially with the warm temperatures. In warmer temperatures impurities have a better chance of turning into growing bacteria. Cleaning your spa on a regular basis is better for your hot tubs health, as well as any persons enjoying the hot tub.
Full cleaning of the surfaces and water lines can be done every month when the hot tub is completely drained. It is very IMPORTANT that you DO NOT USE HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS TO CLEAN YOUR HOT TUB! Use only suggested spa cleaners. A little worried you might not be doing it right? Call a professional. Hot Tub Patrol has state of the art cleaning techniques, materials and solutions that are safe and beneficial to your the health of your spa.
Vaccum Your Hot Tub
There are many small convenient hot tub vacuums to choose from. Regularily vacuuming your hot tub is great to help keep dirt and bacteria out of the water. Have bigger debris? Use a skimming net to get out leaves and other large impurities.
Air Out Your Spa Cover
Bacteria breeds in enclosed moist and warm places. So do musty smells and algae. It is recommended, in fact strongly recommended, that you take your spa cover off and let both the spa and cover air out at least 2 times per week. This allows the cover to dry out from the constant heat and moisture contact ,as well as air out the spa and water in general. Leave the cover off for 2-4 hours to allow total air out. While doing so it is also suggested that you clean and condition your vinyl cover. Keeping it well conditioned with special oil or cleaner will help your spa cover last longer. It will keep it strong, clean and pretty to the eye.
Our Hot Tub Cleaning Service not only empties, cleans, refills and balances the chemicals, we also clean you cover.
Add Fill Water
Adding additional water to the slowly decreasing water line of your hot tub is one of those chores that often is left forgotten.
It is however, one of the most important things you can do for the optimal health and longevity of your hot tub. WHY?
If the water in your hot tub drops below the skimmer line the skimmer starts to suck air instead of water. This can be very detrimental to your hot tubs pump causing damage and costly repairs. It is recommended to check the water line AT LEAST 1 time per week. Make sure to keep the water to the middle of the skimmer intake or above. It is also recommended that you drain and fill the hot tub entirely every 2-4 months.
